Microsoft has announced an Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase to air on June 13 as part of the pre-E3 ceremonies. It will be the first time the two companies will present together since the former’s acquisition of the latter.
Historically, having an E3-adjacent presentation lets any company avoid the brisk panic and chaos of E3 proper, but the showcase will be an important one given the persistent curiosity regarding the future of Microsoft exclusives and Bethesda releases. Little in the way of specifics have been given regarding the games and announcements to be made as Xbox loves its surprises.
Things will kick off at 10am Pacific Time and Microsoft promises 90 minutes of announcements that will highlight the “epic gaming lineup coming out of [the Bethesda] partnership, the incredible games coming to Xbox this holiday, upcoming releases on Xbox Game Pass, and more.” Hopefully, that’s a tight ninety minutes with none of the weird filler and stunts that sometimes plague these pressers.
We can make a few educated guesses about what we’ll see. We’ll very likely get some updates from Double Fine and Ninja Theory regarding Psychonauts 2 and Hellblade: Senua’s Saga. We’re also hoping for greater clarity regarding Halo Infinite, which has been delayed significantly and subject to much gossip and speculation regarding its progress.
As for the actual Bethesda stuff, it’s a given that we hope for a proper full reveal of their two eagerly anticipated games: the sci-fi RPG Starfield and the sixth Elder Scrolls (and the first since 2011’s Skyrim). Not that we won’t welcome any new information from the seven other studios under the Bethesda wing.
Whatever the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase brings, you can catch it all via Twitch, YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook on June 13, 10 am Pacific.
