Like previous games in the Borderlands series, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands gives out loot and other extra goodies via ShiFT Codes, a series of numbers and letters that Gearbox Software periodically sends out via their socials. If you want every piece of loot possible for the shared world loot shooter, you can scrape these codes on off various social media accounts of Gearbox and other spaces for the Borderlands franchise.
SHiFT Codes are an incredibly novel way of keeping players engaged with Gearbox Software socials, and at best/worst, ensures fans are tuned into the Twitter account of Gearbox’s Lord and Satan, Randy Pitchford. That’s right, the hope is that for a chance at some free in-game treasures in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, you’ll follow them.

Just like previous games, there is no reliable release schedule for Wonderlands SHiFT Codes. They are published irregularly and unlike previous games, consistently have short expiration dates that make them highly coveted. Each code can only be redeemed once per account per platform.
It’s worth noting though, that each Skeleton Key unlocks a larger quantity of legendary, and epic loot than previous games. So, despite their scarcity, each is worth more than say, a Golden Key from Borderlands 2.
If you’re new to Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, here’s how to redeem the SHiFT codes:
- In-game. Via the game’s Social menu, you can copy the 25 character SHiFT code, tab over to the SHiFT panel and paste it in. You’ll find the Skeleton Keys in the Mail tab.
- Online via the official SHiFT site. Visit shift.gearboxsoftware.com. Make sure you’re linked up to your game account, that is to say via the Xbox Live account associated with your copy of the game before inputting your SHiFT code.
