Initially announced at Sony’s State of Play back in March, Square Enix’s new strategy RPG The DioField Chronicle is coming to Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S with release date confirmed by its latest trailer.
This new tactical title is set to be released on the 22nd of September with a demo of the game coming soon on the 10th of August for all consoles (but notably not on PC). Data will be carried over to the full-version of the game if you do decide to buy the game after playing the demo.
Lancarse and Square Enix’s new RPG boasts a brand-new gameplay experience with the introduction of the Real Time Tactical Battle system or RTTB for short. The battle system works almost like the Active-Time Battle system from Final Fantasy but are allowed to move freely throughout the battlefield during their turn.
For the story though, players will uncover the conflict between the Kingdom of Alletain, the Trovelt-Schoevian Empire, and the Rowetale Alliance. You will follow the story of a mercenary group, with ties to the Kingdom of Alletain, called the Blue Foxes. Their adventures entail facing imperial forces that have invaded the alliance. The game features a rich storyline with fully-fleshed out characters along with intriguing plot twists and a political narrative that ties our main characters in a larger conflict.
Square Enix is very well known for its tactics based titles both from the past and current games they’ve released, and The DioField Chronicle appears to be up their alley when it comes to both aesthetics and polish judging from the trailer alone. The voice acting definitely sounds top-notch and I’m looking forward to trying out the demo once it gets released on the 10th of August.
Once again, The DioField Chronicle is set to be released on the 22nd of September for PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S with a demo soon to be arriving on the 10th of August.
