Soul Hackers 2 gets new trailer at Summer Game Fest, pre-orders open

At Summer Game Fest, we got another look at Soul Hackers 2 with a new trailer that features Ringo and treats us with a listen to the English dub.

Soul Hackers 2 is set in the mid-21st century, a not-so-distant future where Devil Summoners live in the shadows of society and harness the powers of “Demons”. The world is being watched by a sentient data collective, called Aion, which detects that the end is nigh. Ringo must find a way to stop this inevitable destruction and uncover the truth behind the world’s end.

As Ringo, you are an agent of Aion, who must join forces with Devil Summoners to stop the world’s end. The gameplay features turn-based combat popular within the Shin Megami Tensei series and it carries the same roster of enemies to fight against as well. The game also lets you fight and fuse demons, modify COMPs (a special gadget that assists devil summoners), explore city districts and deepen bonds with your allies over a good meal.

If you’re not sold yet, this is probably the closest thing Xbox is going to get to a game with that Persona 5 level of style and gameplay, thanks to an exclusivity deal between Atlus and PlayStation that keeps the famous franchise off Microsoft’s platform. That being said, the trailer to Soul Hackers 2 promises to fill a void for those looking for Xbox players looking for a similar vibe and feel.

I am definitely keeping my eye on Soul Hackers 2 just for the mere fact that it could be the next big JRPG and possibly, hopefully shape up to be one of the best JRPGs on Xbox. Those looking to pick up the game as soon as they can can already pre-order the game now at But if you’re already a super fan, you might be interested in picking up the highly exclusive collector’s edition of the game.

Soul Hackers 2 launches on the 26th of August for PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Pre-ordering the game also gets you an exclusive Persona 5 Phantom Thieves outfit pack at launch.
