All three Shadowrun games by Harebrained Schemes (Battletech) are coming to Xbox Game Pass.
Paradox Interactive, the publisher of Harebrained Schemes, shared the news that Shadowrun Returns, Shadowrun Dragonfall and Shadowrun Hong Kong would be bundled together in a port for modern consoles, while launching day one on Microsoft’s subscription service. An announcement trailer was also released.
This re-release project originally began with an announcement for the Nintendo Switch but it seems that plans have expanded to accommodate consoles from both this generation and the previous one. According to Paradox, these aren’t simply ports but improved versions featuring “upscaled graphics” and “improved performance.”
The Shadowrun Trilogy is based on the long-running tabletop RPG, which set itself apart from dungeons and dragons and worlds of darkness with a unique setting that blends cyberpunk dystopia with a distinct fantasy milieu filled with elves, orks, goblins and magic.
The series began with 2013’s Shadowrun Returns, which has the neat distinction of being the first ever crowdfunded videogame to launch after raising $1 million on Kickstarter. This was followed up with Shadowrun Dragonfall in 2014 and Shadowrun Hong Kong in 2015.
Shadowrun Trilogy is now available for pre-order. It’s currently $30, at a 25% discount down from the $40 it’ll be at when it launches on June 21. You can check it out on the Microsoft Store where you can purchase it for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, though as mentioned Shadowrun Trilogy will also be launching on Xbox Game Pass.
