Sea of Thieves begins its time-limited Adventures

The newest content drop for Sea of Thieves has just arrived introducing narrative focused adventures called, well, Adventures!

These story based events will take place at a rate of roughly once per month lasting about a fortnight each. And at the end of the season, a final Adventure will run that concludes the story beats for it; this final adventure will run for three weeks. The developers have stated that the conclusion of the Adventure as well as the combined efforts and choices of the community will impact the lore of Sea of Thieves and the game world itself.

For the folks who haven’t caught up to current events, the gist of it is that the Sea of the Damned – the place where pirates go when they die (before they’re brought back to the world of the living), has bled on over into the Sea of Thieves. It’s created an ominously spooky atmosphere; ghosts, ghost ships and other nasties have come to the world of the living. It’s a great setup that puts our intrepid band of pirates on the trails of a mystery!

Sea of Thieves Adventures

The first Adventure, Shrouded Islands, is out now and the event will last until the 3rd of March. We can assume that the next Adventure will play out right after and if you don’t want to fall behind, it might be best to start playing through the Shrouded Islands soon.

If you want to find out more about the Adventures that Rare has in store for you in Sea of Thieves, you can check out their blog for the plot details regarding Shrouded Islands. Other than that, if you were wondering about Sea of Thieves leaving their arena PVP for jetsam, you can read about it here.

Sea of Thieves is playable on Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Windows PC and is also on Steam. The game has also been a part of Game Pass since launch. This open-sea pirate adventure is a wild one, and features a world filled with many secrets, one which Matthew wrote about.
