Saints Row: The Third Remastered now optimized for Xbox Series X|S

Rejoice owners of Saints Row: The Third Remastered who are also playing on Xbox Series X|S! This very specific subset of players can now enjoy a free upgrade via Smart Delivery.

If you haven’t played Saints Row: The Third at any point in time since it originally released in 2011 or when the Remastered version was launched on Xbox One, PC and PS4 last year, you’re in for a treat. The third installment of the open world crime series diverges from its Grand Theft Auto knockoff roots and leaps into full comedy filled with slapstick, sight gags and singing pimps.

The success of Saints Row: The Third led to the sci-fi sequel Saints Row IV in 2013 and the underworld romp spin-off Saints Row: Gat out of Hell in 2015. Since then the series has been mostly dormant though rumors abound of a Saints Row V in development. A spin-off called Agents of Mayhem set in a futuristic South Korea featured some Saints Row characters but was not as warmly received.

Deep Silver fully casts the Saints into the next generation in the free upgrade that makes the game optimized for Xbox Series X|S with a host of customary modernizations like 60 frames per second, a dynamic 4K resolution and the option to toggle between Performance mode or Beauty mode. Improvements have also been made to lighting, effects, texture resolution and loading via SSD storage.

I’m looking forward to revisiting Saints Row: The Third. The Remastered version already performed well on last generation consoles, but with the power that comes with being optimized for Xbox Series X|Sthe Xbox Series consoles, I can only imagine it runs like a dream. Also, I haven’t hit anyone with a dildo bat in like, ages.

Saints Row: The Third Remastered is available on Xbox, Windows 10 PC as well as Steam, GOG, PlayStation 4 and Google Stadia. It’s also part of the Xbox Super Saver Sale at 40% off for $23.99
