Respawn is hiring for new single-player game set in Apex Legends universe

A series of job listings at Respawn Entertainment‘s website point to a single-player game in development that’s set in the Apex Legends universe.

One listing is for an “experienced Mid-Level 3D Hardsurface Artist” that will be working on “a brand new Respawn single-player adventure.” The listing says that the project is “a developer’s dream playground with the freedom to innovate made possible by the unique universe it inhabits.”

The listing also goes on to boast proudly of Respawn’s work culture stating that their “critically acclaimed, multi-platform games have always established a ‘fun comes first’ sensibility created with the notion that great ideas can come from anyone, which allows creativity to shine and individuals to shape the game in meaningful ways.”

Another listing for a Senior Systems Engineer was found, this time the listing specifically states it’s for the “Apex Universe FPS Incubation Title”. The job listing tasks whoever gets hired to “design, build, and maintain technology that enables the team to create engaging gameplay and fantastic experiences.”

Respawn may also have been working on this secret title for a while now because last year a tweet from Mohammad Alavi, co-founder of Titanfall’s team, stated that Respawn was looking to get more designers for a “brand new single-player adventure from Respawn Entertainment.”

A new single-player game in the works is nice and all, but hardcore Titanfall fans may be disappointed to find out that it’s an Apex game first and foremost. Titanfall has an amazingly dedicated fanbase, but despite that, their beloved franchise has been marred by hackers, DDOS attacks and insufficient support. With Apex Legends being as successful (and lucrative) as it is right now it’s no wonder Titanfall has been left on a shelf ever since.

Respawn Entertainment is also supervising a variety of Star Wars projects including the recently teased Star Wars Jedi Survivor. That’s plenty of projects currently underway so it’s pretty safe to assume that fans just need to wait a lot longer as they stand by for Titanfall.
