Netflix has just released a new trailer for the upcoming Dragon Age animated series, which was teased about 5 months ago, along with a definite release date of December 9th, 2022.
Dragon Age Absolution will run for six episodes and as is typical of a majority of Netflix releases, will all drop on the same date, making for a single bingeable package. For those unaware, the animated series is based on BioWare’s award-winning video game franchise of the same name, Dragon Age.
The video description states that “Dragon Age: Absolution explores mature subjects concerning freedom, power, and corruption set against the backdrop of adult animation.”
“With great power at stake, a group of mages, fighters, and thieves goes head to head against a sinister force possessing a dangerous artifact. Fear. Guilt. Pain. Can Miriam push aside her feelings to complete her mission – or will the trauma looming over her past finally catch up with her? Nothing is absolute.”
The description ends with a tease for Dragon Age Day, which will be on the 4th of December. The veteran cast of voice actors was also included, at the end of the description. Dragon Age Absolution features the voice of Kimberly Brooks, Matt Mercer, Ashly Burch, Sumalee Montano, Phil LaMarr, Keston John, Josh Keaton, Zehra Fazal, and more.
Bioware may be looking to replicate the same success that Castlevania, Arcane and Cyberpunk had on the popular streaming platform, and I’m all for the attempt at adding more to Dragon Age’s stories. As for BioWare’s next game, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, we’re also hoping to see more of it on the 4th of December, since the game may be nearing completion judging from the last blog released on the Dragon Age website.
For the meantime, I look forward to watching Miriam’s story on Dragon Age: Absolution that will be released on the 9th of December, on Netflix.
