Is Far Cry 6 coming to Game Pass?

Far Cry 6 Game Pass

Assassin’s Creed Origins and Watch Dogs 2 are just two of the most recent Ubisoft additions to Game Pass, so it stands to reason to ask, is Far Cry 6 coming to Game Pass?

Well an eagle-eyed Twitter user (@IdleSloth84) saw and screenshot a lineup for Xbox’s all you can play subscription service that included Sniper Elite 5, Naraka Bladepoint, Assassin’s Creed Origins and Far Cry 6.

However, we’re sorry to disappoint Game Pass enthusiasts to say that No, Far Cry 6 is not yet coming to Game Pass. Ubisoft quickly cleared up the confusion with TrueAchievements, stating that the advertisement was a mistake and has been rectified.

Naraka Bladepoint and Sniper Elite 5 have come to Game Pass, as well as Assassin’s Creed Origins, which may have given this false credence. The fact is that the Microsoft dude managing the storefront might have had butter fingers and mistakenly put Far Cry 6 there by accident.

Far Cry 5 however, was added to Game Pass earlier this month so its possible that this was an old draft advertisement intended for that game, not Far Cry 6. While it isn’t out of the imagination, it may be a bit too early for Far Cry 6 to come to Game Pass considering the game is not even a year old.

All of this being said, Microsoft has really stepped up in signing deals with Ubisoft with some of its biggest games of yesterdecade to the service. In addition to Far Cry 5, Watch Dogs 2 was added last week, giving the under-rated open world hacktivist adventure a chance to find a new audience.

In other Ubisoft news, a recent investors call reportedly stated that Ubisoft has canceled 4 titles in development, including the previously announced Ghost Recon Frontline and Splinter Cell VR, while delaying Avatar Frontiers of Pandora.
