Disney is teasing a sneak peek at Amy Hennig Marvel game at D23 Expo Showcase

Disney has announced that they will be hosting a game -focused digital showcase at the upcoming D23 Expo, and have teased the in-development Marvel game being led by Amy Hennig.

The Disney & Marvel Games Showcase will be streamed on Friday, 9th of September and include content from Disney & Pixar Games, Marvel Games, Lucasfilm Games, and 20th Century Games. Promised are all-new details on previously revealed games such as Marvel’s Midnight Suns, Disney Dreamlight Valley, LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga and a sneak peek of an upcoming Marvel game in development at Skydance New Media.

The Marvel game at Skydance is being helmed by Amy Hennig, former Naughty Dog creative director and one of the main driving forces behind the Uncharted series. Not a lot has been revealed about the project yet but we do know that it’ll be a “narrative-driven, blockbuster action-adventure” much like Uncharted. This new Marvel game will be the second major game to be worked on by Skydance New Media, which Hennig helped establish after she joined them back in 2019, and the other one being a “richly-cinematic action-adventure game” set in the Star Wars universe.

“I can’t imagine a better partner than Marvel for our first game,” said Hennig, President, Skydance New Media who announced last year in October that they were working on a new Marvel game. “The Marvel Universe epitomizes all the action, mystery and thrills of the pulp adventure genre that I adore and lends itself perfectly to an interactive experience. It’s an honor to be able to tell an original story with all the humanity, complexity, and humor that makes Marvel characters so enduring and to enable our players to embody these heroes that they love.”

Marvel’s Avengers recently added The Mighty Thor to its roster, but its doubtful it will be featured at the Showcase.

This isn’t Hennig’s first rodeo with Disney. The Uncharted creator notably spent around three years working on Project Ragtag with EA before it was left on the shelf when Visceral Games was shut down. At the very least, we’re all excited to know what’s in store for us when the showcase reveals more details on the 9th of September.
