Albert Wesker, Rebecca Chambers and Ada Wong are joining Dead by Daylight. Behaviour Interactive announced the asymmetrical multiplayer horror game’s second collaborative event with Capcom titled Resident Evil Project W, which expands the roster of iconic Resident Evil characters available.
We first got wind of this during the anniversary stream back in May when they revealed a whole lot of new content coming to the game. This included a new killer, a new survivor, a new map and other teasers for future collaborative content as well.
Project W introduces Wesker, the trenchcoat wearing Mastermind, as a playable killer in Dead by Daylight, while Chambers and Wong join as two new survivors. In addition to these characters, this new release will also feature a reworked map of the Raccoon City Police Department. That said, I can’t wait to see Wesker chase down Chris and Jill throughout the RCPD map.
But if you’re unaware who these new folks are, here’s a quick introduction. Ada Wong is the series’ super spy, known throughout the series to be working for a mysterious organization, but is sometimes helpful to Leon while on the field. Rebecca Chambers is the youngest member and resident Medic of S.T.A.R.S. (Special Tactics and Rescue Service, the same unit Chris, Jill and Wesker are a part of.) Lastly we have Albert Wesker, one of the main antagonists in the Resident Evil series who was secretly a member of the Umbrella Corporation.
Dead by Daylight’s first collaboration with Capcom and Resident Evil launched over a whole year ago. That’s right, Jill Valentine and Leon S. Kennedy joined the game as playable survivors and Nemesis, the iconic stalker from Resident Evil 3, was added as a playable killer. The collab also let you play as Chris and Claire Redfield using cosmetics that could be applied to Jill and Leon and added the Raccoon City Police Department as a new playable map to complete the experience.
No release date has been provided yet for Project W, but fans are speculating sometime between August and September. On a side note, the dating sim about Dead by Daylight’s killers is out now, exclusively on Steam, and you can check out the trailer here.
Dead by Daylight is available on the Microsoft Store for Windows PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series consoles and is also accessible via Game Pass.
